Slow Rove was created with the intention to slow down and better connect with the process of making the everyday items we value by hand. My hopes are to support the importance of handmade craft to counter the lack of human connection, creativity, and the instant gratification associated with bulk manufacturing. Instead, I am drawn to pottery as a means of creative expression and for lessons in self-presence and patience.

Rove is used to describe the journey of creating something without a known outcome. For me, pottery has always been a therapeutic means of exploration. Although the pieces reach a level of refinement, I am more drawn to the iterative process of forming the clay into various shapes and experimenting with different types of glazes to form both functional and decorative pieces.
